Nadia was the pick of her litter and lived her first 22 months at Santera. We met her during her puppy years when visiting the Novocins and knew her as quite a character. Nadia, unhappy with kennel life, joined our household shortly before her second birthday in 1996. She taught us the ropes of the conformation ring, and eventually became our first AKC Champion. She enjoyed a long life, celebrating her 11th birthday in April 2005, living over nine years as a beloved member of the Caroling pack.
Nadia was shown a couple of times as a puppy, but earned all her points after coming to live with us. We finished her AKC championship with four majors: two four point shows, two three pointers. She was handled by Norb & Sandy Novocin.
Judge Dorothy Collier pinned Nadia Best of Breed over Specials at Middleburg Kennel Club in 1996.
The following day she went Best Opposite Sex under Judge Nelson Huber for 4 points.
WHAT A WEEKEND!
July 17, 1999 - Nadia goes Best of Opposite Sex over the 1999 BMD top bitch. A special treat for mom Carol who was on the other end of the lead that day.
Nadia had three litters, all born and raised here at Caroling. Two daughters, Caroling In The Treetop, and Santera Lyrical Sheena were AKC champions, with all points from the bred-by exhibitor class. Sheena was Best of Winners over 76 class dogs at the 2000 Potomac Valley BMD Club Independent Specialty.
Three of Nadia's kids were rated by GDC with Excellent Hips and normal Elbows. Two others have OFA numbers. All of her get have been temperamentally and orthopedically sound.
